Join us on an Icelandic Adventure!
We will have four full days of exploring south and southeast of the country - the most widely visited areas.
We will undertake daily excursions into parts of Iceland that show the true beauty of the country.
We
will be able to experience snowmobiling, dog sledding, biking, hiking,
whale watching, and horse riding, as well as seeing the majestic
Gullfoss, famous Geysir, glaciers, blue lagoon, and the black beach.
With a population of only 185,000 people in the whole county, Iceland has a genuine character that one will never forget.

Wednesday, June 15: Departure from JFK - 11:35 pm - Direct flight to Reykjavik
Thursday, June 16 - The Golden Circle
Arrive in Iceland at 9.20 am. Prepare to venture on the Golden Circle Tour
The Golden Circle Tour
encompasses some of the most famous sites in Iceland. First we will
visit the Keridi crater and Faxi waterfall. From here we will head to
the world famous geothermal area of the great Geyser, the one and
original hot spring on earth, after which all other hot springs are
named after. We will be able to hike around the bubbling mud pools and
venture up a hill to get a panoramic view of the great Geysir.
Continuing west, we’ll come to
the majestic Gullfoss (The Golden Waterfall). Here we will walk down
to the edge of the cascade, so close that you can even feel the mist
from the glacial water on your face. Next, we will head to Pingvellir
National Park, which is one of the country's most significant historic
regions. Pingvellir is an amazing geological site where the meeting of
the tectonic plates of North America and Europe form the picturesque
landscape.
In the evening, we will settle into our beautiful cabins.

Friday, June 17: Southern Iceland w/Optional Dog Sledding or Snowmobile
After breakfast, we will
continue to see the sights of southern Iceland. Among en route stops
today are Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall you can actually walk behind.
Here you will have the choice of hiking or visiting the Saga museum.
We will make a stop at the Eyjafjallajokull glacier that recedes in size more each year.
Another must see on the south
side of Iceland is the black beach. Here there are scenic views of
glaciers, woodlands, and other colorful landscape and the ideal spot
for the lovers of pure nature.
In the afternoon you will have an optional activity to either snowmobile or dog sled on the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier.
In the late afternoon or evening, horseback riding can be an optional activity at the cabins.

Saturday, June 18 - The City of Reykjavik
Today we transfer back to Reykjavik:
The day will be open and there are plenty of ways to explore and experience the city:
- Hike Mt. Esja, just 20 minutes outside Reykjavik
- On wheels: The bike ride will
be an easy 3 hour ride through the old and new areas of Reykjavik,
seeing the fast transformation of rural Iceland into urban Reykjavik.
This trip will end at downtown Reykjavik at a favorite bar & grill
with the first beer on the house.
- Sign up for a whale watching tour.- Alternate idea, just shop and relax in this quaint city.
Optional Highlight: A visit to the Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa and the perfect way to end a trip to Iceland.
You can relax in the warm
geothermal seawater in a fascinating steamy environment and is a
one-of-a-kind experience. It is famous for its unique active
ingredients and their effects on body and soul.
In the evening, this will be the chance to enjoy one of the top ten party cities!
Suggested group dinner and a night out and about.
